I will pay more for an original game than some port, I dont care how good it is. But I refuse to pay over 20 dollars unless the game has some really tight features. I use my PPC everyday for work in a IS NetOps enviroment. I use to view excel spreadsheets and to also check and sync email. When I do have some time I will play a game on it or read a book. I bought this game cause I have been watching it for a long long time and even tried to demo out a few times. I finally bought it last night as a small gift to myself for my bday. I do like it and I like the fact that I can install it on all 3 of my pdas and my pc if I wanted to and they will not have a cow over it. I did buy siimcity and metalion for the ppc and I regretted it since the game play was a little disorganized and some of the graphics blended in with the background too much. I will not pay over 20 dollars for a game unless it has a lot of originality and tight features like I mentioned above. There are some exceptions to the rule like morphgear and a few others but not many. I really can not see paying over 25-30 bucks for an application on a ppc since they do not always integrate as well with the pda as it should and there demos or shareware version that is limited in so many ways not allow you to test it out fully.

My $0.02 on this.

BTW though I do like the game and I do like how I save it after a few turns and go about my daily routine.

Tried the demo many times over the past year. I've been waiting for the 1.0 release since I didn't want to shell out the 20 bucks and then have to do it again once the 1.0 release is out. What is your upgrade policy?

I think $20 is about right for this caliber of game. PPC gamers are a strange breed...the people in my office that have pocket pc's are really only looking for some cheap (and I mean less than $20) thrills but not much in-depth game play. If they are looking for a real gaming experience, they all expect to find it on a desktop and don't even think about pocket pc. Therefore, they are looking for more arcade style games, something you can pick up, play, then set down and not think about it until the next free moment comes along.

All upgrades are free until 1.0 and 1.0 will have patches done to it to fix bugs which will also be free.

You are right about what people are looking for on pdas which is strange because it is not what they are looking for on gameboys and I thought the two markets would be similar.

You would ask that question on the forum of a developer that makes video games. What kind of an idiot are you?

I paid $24.97 on Handango so $19.99 would be a steal! Actually, I'd probably pay up to $30 for software of this caliber.

Yeah, this was a really old thread before the Anonymous people posted on it. Pocket War hasn't been under $24 since it hit 1.0. Except for that one time sale on clickgamer we did.

Wow, I can't believe someone posted this one my website of all places "
where do u guys get cracked games adn apps???????"

Tully, Mike Newsome here. After looking at this thread, I'll just add my two cents. I think this game is phenominal and well worth $24.99. The replay value alone ranks it above anything close to it and if you're a die hard "Empire" of old player it will surely be worth the price tag. I like free updates and customer discounts on version upgrades i.e. 1.x to 2.x. Just my thoughts.
