A nice feature would be an option (under options menu) to modify what folder games are saved to. ie flash card, ipaq file store, my documents, or network drive on pc version.

It is looking like the map editor is going to win.
Also more than one person has asked about saving games to a different folder so I should probably add that as well.
That will be a hack though, I will add a setting to the settings file to let you pick a directory but there won't be a UI to modify it. So for those who want to change it they will have to change it by hand in the file. I will document the setting in the help files.

I would like to see an option to vary the % of land vs. water when creating a new random map.

I concur with the last posting. It would definately be nice to have the option to take influence on the automated map creation.
If you really want to create an upgrade package for pocketwar, how about including some kind of basic economy/infrastucture management (like the ability to build railroads/mines/oil rigs)

don't know if economy would be a very good idea. because it would change the game mechanics quit a lot.
what about real diplomacy by the way? treaties and such things...

ok, another thing comes to my mind:
statistics. what about bars and graphs and all kind of statistical data to analyse after a game?

mmm...stats! That last post reminded me about this (hope it wasn't mentioned yet). It would be nice to see graphs and other stat data and it would be even better if it was a compilation of all of your stats for every game played.

Hehe, I said I had a *little* free time. :) I am working on the map editor and maybe campaigns, but keep the rest of the things you would like to see coming. I will try and get them all into a 2.0 release eventually.
