0.96 beta 2 should be ready to go some time around next monday 3/10. Multiplayer probably still won't be ready to go but it will have a nice surprise in it that I think everyone will like.

I am a bit ahead of schedule on 0.96 beta 2. It will now be released on Wed 3/10.

The next beta has these things added:

* small adjustments to the score code to make scores a bit higher
* you can now add a save game location to the mod file to force games to be saved in a certain directory
* tileset updated
* transparency removed from some places and darkened in others to make it easier to see the game
* map drawing code adjusted to make the map brighter on pdas
* more optimizations added to drawing code
* selected tiles now show more information about things pathing to them, follow waypoints, etc.
* cities and waypoints will now show paths like units
* help system bug fixed that was causing crash
* arctic hunter removed (it will become a downloadable mod)
* title screen fixed on pdas

Yes, the tileset update is the surprise. I had planned on doing it in a later release but bumped it up in the schedule. I attached a sample screenshot to give you an idea what it looks like now.

The whole game has had a graphical makeover. The tileset is just a part of it. :)
