I have been playing the "older" desktop version for a loooong time, with a lot of enjoyment. Today I d/l the 1.7 release and was pretty unhappy. Mouse wheel created waypoints and opened properties, as stated above. Enemy unit colors were incorrect, I could no longer give orders to a unit and jump to another unit without closing the orders screen first, my numberpad Enter Key no longer runs turns, and a few other minor annoyances. So I am reinstalling the older version. They only problem I had with that one was the game would crash occassionally when mucking about with groups or removing a unit from a group. Otherwise, I am very satisfied with the game in general. One more thing, tho, is it possible to somehow save my old settings before installing a new version? It's a minor thing, but was just curious. Thanks!

I have a patch ready for the color bug.
I'll look at the windows control problems (mouse wheel, and enter key.)
Can you give me more information about "I could no longer give orders to a unit and jump to another unit without closing the orders screen first"
Are there any other problems you have found?

Concerning "I could no longer give orders to a unit and jump to another unit without closing the orders screen first": Okay let me try to clarify a bit better. If I click on a unit to, for example, change its orders from: 1)attack enemy units to: 2)go to the nearest city, I must then click the X in the "orders" window to close that window before I may click another unit to open its orders windows. Previously, I could click open a unit, give it orders, then click anywhere to close that window. Or, I could simply click a city or another unit to close the open unit window and open the new selected city/unit orders window automatically. In the new version, I could not open another unit/city without first manually closing the open window by clicking the little X in the orders window. If I could possibly give you any other information, please ask. You've done a really great (!) job with this simple game, and I applaud you. Thanks.

The problem I reported about the game hanging if I turn off and then on, is still there. However, as suspected by several here, it is dependent on the game being in a flash card. When I have it loaded in the internal ROM there is no problem.
The AI seems to have gotten smarter, or it was just bad luck that I got licked in my first two games with the new version!
