Help, The old version of pocket war worked fine for the demo but I tried .98 a few weeks ago and just tried .981 and when I go to start the game I get:
mge.exe has performed an illegal operation.
exception 0xc0000005
address 00021438 fatal application error.
Any ideas?

Make sure you uninstall the old version and delete the metalshard directory. Then install 0.981 and see if that works. If it doesn't let me know.

I had this problem too when I installed 0.981 and I had uninstalled the old version and deleted the MetalShard directory. I ended up reinitializing my PDA and restoring a backup of 0.974 which works fine. I'll try again when I have more time to mess around with it. Till then I'll stick with a version that works for me.

This seems to only be happening to people that upgrade from older versions.

I just had a thought. How much free memory do you each have on your PDAs?

With PocketWar and ActiveSync running I have 7.40 MB of Storage memory and 9.88 MB of Program memory free on a 32 MB Toshiba e310.

There is a new 1.0 beta ready for download. Try that out and see if it works. If it doesn't let me know so we can figure out what is going wrong.
