Subject - I Can't Install

I keep trying to instal the program but it repeatedly says, "mgedesktop.exe was bad, please try to run install again..."

Which version are you trying to install the new 1.0 beta or 0.981?

I checked both installs and they seem to be working fine. It could be that your browser hiccuped while downloading the game. Try downloading the install program again and that should fix it for you.
