I created a multiplayer group with 1.05 then I start my game and push 'multiplayer'. It tells me I am not part of a group and need to create or join one. How do play a multiplayer game?

IR is not currently supported. You have to have at least two people in your group before it will let you start the game and once you start the game noone else can join.
Whoever you want to play the multiplayer game with needs to go to the website and join your group, then you can go into pocketwar and the group will show up.

thanks. I guess it wouldn't work if I used my PPC version for one player and my desktop version for the other or can I only play someone else who also purshased it?

Yes, it requires two separate accounts.
