I saved a game this afternoon and while at work in the wee hours of the morning tried to load it....message said 'the game in this slot is to old to load' what gives??????

That message only comes up when you have changed the version of pocket war. (or if something bad has happened to the save game file) Check the autosave file and see if it give you the same message also, when you saved the game it made a backup of the previous game file. The file names are pw(slotname).pwg and pw(slotname).bak. So for slot 1 it would be pw1.pwg and pw1.bak. Try renaming the .bak game to .pwg (after moving your current save game out of the way) and see if you can load that one.
I am working on a patch release now, so if there is a problem I would like to run it down quickly so I can get the fix in.
