We have a pocket pc and a desktop and want to use them to play multiplayer games -- do we need two games, or can we use the same one on both machines? And, do we have to play through the internet, or can we use our lan?

you need two accounts and it works over the lan (everything goes through a central server.) You can play head to head on the pocket pc or the desktop though that only requires the one machine and one account.

Thanks for the response, but I'm not clear on one thing -- you say it works over the lan and goes through a central server - is that *your* server requiring internet access on our part, or *our* server? TIA

Multiplayer must go through our server here at www.metalshard.com so you need internet access to see it.
