Subject - How do you direct from gate to gate?

If I have multiple gates, it seems that the teleporting is random. Is there a way to direct where the units go with more than two gates?

If I remember correctly its the order in which you drop them. The first goes to the second the second to the third and so on. (That doesn't mean that I remember correctly.)
