1.08 requires talking to a game server on the internet.
1.5 beta does not currently have multiplayer switched on.

Currently it is planned for 1.5 to be just like 1.08 so it will require a central server. It hasn't been "switched on" because the server is still running 1.08 code. Once I update the server 1.08 will no longer be able to play multiplayer games, but 1.5 will.
So the answer would still be no. :)

Point to point is not currently planned. It does support both WiFi and Bluetooth but they must be used as internet connections.

sorry to hear that. You would have to admit it would be a huge plus to be able to connect to another PPC network and play the game through BT or WiFi.
