Subject - Built in limits for mods?

I'm trying to create an AWACS mod. The script defines a see range of 12, but it's cut down to 10 in-game. I've also noticed a similar thing when I try to change the artillery mod to have an attack range of 9. The game automatically cuts that down to 8 in-game.

How do I disable or override these limits?

You cant the caps are put in place for performance reasons. As the see and attack ranges increase the amount of time it takes for the computer to figure out what to do goes up exponentially.

So what are those limits so I don't try to exceed them?
